IMPORTANT: All STSM reports and subsequent publications should bear the following sentence:
"This work benefitted from interactions promoted by COST Action FA 1208 https://cost-sustain.org"
What are STSMs
Short-term scientific missions (STSMs) are exchange visits between researchers involved in a COST action, allowing scientists to visit an institution or laboratory in another COST country.
They are aimed at fostering collaboration, sharing new techniques and infrastructure that may not be available in other participants' institutions or laboratories.
STSMs can run for a minimum of 5 days and a maximum of 3 months and are intended especially for young researchers.
The financial support is a contribution to the costs of a STSM and should normally cover only travel and subsistence.
The financial contribution for a STSM will be a fixed grant based on the Applicant's budget request and the evaluation of the application by the STSM assessment committee.
How to apply
There are 2 calls per year for STSMs (October and April).
The 6th call for STSMs is now closed. The deadline for the sixth STSM call was April 26th 2016.
- a written agreement of the host institution
- a letter of support from the home institution (written agreement supervisor or group leader)
- supporting documents (CV, full work plan, list of publications, covering letter)
Applications are evaluated by the STSM Management Committee.
